DEVI storage heating systems are designed for use on ground floor of houses, offices and factories where it is possible to fully utilise low tariff periods. When the storage system is used in conjuction with a devireg™ 710 or 750/754 multizone controller, it will calculate how much of the low tariff period it needs to use to reach the required temperature before switching on, making the system highly economical. The heating cables are embedded in a thick layer of concrete, which stores the heat during the low tariff period. The heat is then gently released during the day and evening. deviheat™ storage heating gives you the cheapest possible energy solution with all the comfort benefits of an ordinary deviheat™ concrete floor.
Why "low tariff"?
The full capacity of an electrical power station's resources are used during the day time hours. This is because most offices, factories etc. use the most amount of electrical equipment and machinery during the day. At night time however - and some periods during the day - there is a large decrease in the use of electricity. As it is naturally beneficial for power stations to sell as much electricity as possible while they are open and operative, they have in some countries chosen to sell electricity cheaply during night time periods. These periods with cheaper electricity are called, "low tariff", periods.
Product choice:
We recommend deviflex™ DTIP/DSIG heating cable (the type of DTIP is depending on the floor surface) controlled by a devireg™ thermostat in the 700 series.
